Hi,

I have just recenetly had an engement party, and recieved lots of gifts and money.
I am planning to send thankyou cards to everyone and im asking if anyone can give me suggestions of kind words I can write in these cards.
I have been writing:
Dearest....
Thankyou for sharing this special day with us and many thanks for the gift. Love .....
Im a bit over writing the same thing so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I think you should personalize every thank you card. Try not to make it a general thank you to everyone because then it doesn't seem sincere or personal. If you have records of what each person gave you as a gift, mention it in the thank you (eg. if it was cash say something like "thank you for your generous gift" If it was something you will be using say "I cant wait to use ...." or "It will look great here.....". It will make the person feel like you really do appreciate their gift and you took careful notice to what they gave you and it will seem that much more sincere.

I think its a bit tacky to mention the amount of money in your card, but do mention a the monetary gift and name the other kinds of gifts.

For mine I put things like "Thank you so much for the gift of the roaster. We look forward to having you over for dinner one day to try it out"

There are books that can help with wording on all sorts of communications.

Ask the sales person at a book store.

at least specifically name what they gave you. like "thank you for the gift of $50. " You could also tell them how you plan to use it.

i secont the above 2 posters. make it personal and specific. "thank you for the $50, we weill use it for X" or "thank you for the crystqal glasses, we will think of you when we use them"

Just "Thank you for your presenc(t)e" is enough I think.
