Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

Exactly right.
The religious can only answer one way, the hard atheists the other.
I think everybody creates their god(s) in their own image.
Sometimes as a negative mold.
Fearful people get a vengeful god that will protect them, violent people make up a peaceful god that they can defend, and so on.

God created man in his own image, but sadly, mankind has subsequently twisted god into whatever image HE deems is suitable to help him ( man ) attain whatever goals he is after. Whether it be political power ( Religion has been politic's whore for thousands of years ), personal gain ( Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker...)or Prestige ( Billy Graham, Orl Roberts ...).
"Religion is the opiate of the masses" one man said............ look at how many people have been 'suckered' by religion - Old people who send half of their meager checks in to religious zealots who promise heaven and who knows what all else to people who send them money. What do they get? Maybe a self-propagandizing book back in the mail. Certainly not salvation , because these people are more interested in selling themselves than the truth about God, Jesus or the Bible.
Yes , God made man, but now man has made God sick.

If man thinks God looks like him then the man must have done some serious creative thinking and created a God he can relate to by saying He looks like him.

GOD created the MAN in HIS own image, because HE is the creator, and when HE gave this knowledge to MAN, then he was able to know this Truth.I hope , we all know the "IMAGE ".of that Supreme soul and we souls.
