He's always there for me, he only joins me and my other friends because of me, he never left my side on a rainy evening and he even applied for a job the same as mine because he told me he can't afford to lose me. Yesterday, his phone was snatched because I called him but he didn't blame me, instead, he blamed himself for being careless

ask your self this... will being with your bestfriend ruin your friendship. if you think its worth it...then go for it. you cant just push away your feelings for somebidy else. first rule...number one in your own life should be yourself. so...heres your chance to answer your question... he does all these things for you...but is it for love with you or is it for friendship??? you can tell with his body language and the way he looks at you. if you feel the answer is what your dreading then keep it from him but tell your other friend who likes him. and see what the result is...go for it and remember...your life is what you make of it not what you want from it... chow xxx

Ask yourself first if he's in your league (by that I mean looks) if he's a bit of a babe magnet and you're no oil painting then he won't go near you. If however you're in the same league then ask yourself why he's not come on to you yet after all he is a man and that's what we do.
Also could you stand watching your mate be with him if not tell him how you feel as if your mate asks him out and he agrees then you'll lose both friends?
Have some guts, tell your friend to back off and ask him out (get him tipsy first) if he says no then let your friend have a go.
One final thought, are you sure he's not gay as in your question it sounds like he could be.

Sometimes bestfriends are better off as friends. However if you think its real...then tell him.

here's what i would do in order to avoid any conflict ! i would speak to him, reveal my feelings, and listen to what he has to say. only then, you will be able to find a solution. otherwise, how can you know, now, what to do, when you don't know his true feelings ? trust me, it's better to know and save yourself from agony, than keeping yourself in the dark..hope i helped.
