I want to build a model bridge, can you help with ideas?

I want to build a model bridge with a span of approx 1 meter, It has to be able to support 1 kg of weight. Has anyone any ideas on design and materials to use. Its kinda an art project. Thanks

Classic materials to use in this project are popsicle sticks and white glue.

For added strength with glued joints, I would roughen up areas to glue with some sand paper.
