Yeah, but my thought is you need to prepare for surgery if you won't wear the brace. The fingers are going numb because you are cutting off the blood supply to the nerve of your hand. In the meantime that is damaging the nerve, possibly permanently. When enough damage is done, you will lose function of the hand, forever. The surgery is an attempt to relieve the strain on the nerve and preserve the function of your hand. It is a long hard road to recovery, and will physical therapy for weeks and months afterwards. And you will still need to wear the brace for support, or you will be back to where you started before the surgery. Carpal tunnel syndrome is not a laughing matter, it has serious effects if you don't take care of it. Start with wearing the brace full time, and finding out what you are doing that is irritating it. It is normally caused by repetitive actions with the hands in a ****** up position, like when you type. It is also caused by any action you repeat over and over again, like on an assembly line. Go back to see the doctor for some anti-inflammatory drugs. Get some ice on the hand/wrist, and let it rest. Wear your brace. Or save up the time off and money for surgery, and the physical therapy afterwards.
