i like how you put this question under "pain/pain management" haha. but yeah i think it's cos whenever people are not awake yet/sleeping the road condition's usually less busy plus the fact that they know everybody's sleeping while they're working so they become ultra bitter and drill more :P so yes it's the government's conspiracy of boosting the work incentive and thus the effectiveness mwauhahahaha

I have noticed a similar thing with regard to road sweepers.

They seem to come round our streets on Sunday mornings from 6.30am.
I may be wrong, but could it be something to do with extra pay for working unsocial hours and weekends?

Take them a cup of tea and a copy of the daily sport or star this will keep them quiet for at least 4 hours so you can get back to bed.

Along with the rubbish men who arrive at 6.30. And my brother-in-law who phones every Sunday morning at 6.45 - "if you don't like it, move the phone from your bedside" is what I was told when I complained. Had the last laugh. I unplugged the phone.)

I know its really annoying, but they are aloud to work from 7am till 11pm!!!! Which seems unfair, but thats what the law states!!
