No, you can't. No Renaults are certified for import into the US.
There are very strict rules on the temporary import of non-conforming vehicles into the US. For one thing, you must post a cash customs bond equal to 4 times the value of the car. You must certify that is being imported for test, research, or racing purposes and that you will not attempt to sell the vehicle. And you must export it within one year. Failure to export within the year will subject the vehicle to impoundment and destruction and forfeiture of your customs bond.

I wholesale cars acroos the border, becasue they love to buy 1996 and older stick shift vehicles. In Mexico there accidents have a drastically higher fatality rate because Mexico has very low safety standards. I took a ride in a taxi that had no airbags, and had drums brakes. This was a 2000 Nissan that I was riding in too, but Nissan did not have to make it safe to drive in the US so they didn't. If you brought an unsafe vehicle from Mexico to the US, then you will run a signifigant risk of losing your money. You very likely will not be able to get a plate. Its like trying to live in a house with a bad roof that might fall in, and the city makes you move out because it is not safe. Try getting one from Canada. Best of luck!

Yes. I would like to get a Chevy Luv pickup. They still sell them down there.Talk about the gas mileage. Ford is whinning about how much money they are losing, but won't sell here in the U.S. the Festiva they sell in Europe with a diesel, and it gets 70 mpg.

The car may be bought anywhere in the world. Now the problem lies in how much in taxes you will pay when you register the vehicle in the United States. It is difficult, but now impossible.

You could, but you won't be able to register it anywhere because it won't meet US safety and emissions standards.
