Because of an incident at the dentist the other day, I was left with a hole in my cheek and now there is a huge bump, which I think is swelling. The dentist did not give me any antibiotics or pain killers so I have tried Tylenol and Anbesol for the pain and iced it to bring down the swelling, but the pain is getting worse by the hour as is the swelling. I have a doctor's appt, but that is not for another 12 hours. Anyone have any ideas on how to help the swelling or pain?

go to an outpatient clinic or emergency room. Sounds like an infection and you'll need antibiotics before it gets better.

Ibruprofen(Advil) will cut down on swelling. Stay sitting up as well to keep the area above your heart so blood doesn;t get there as easily.
