It's very damaging to hair. If you plan on straightening every day I would advise find a really good conditioner. I straighten my about every other day and use hot oil treatments about once every 3 weeks and conidition every day and my hair is pretty healthy.

don't know about COMPLETELY safe but as someone who thought they would be stuck with dry, frizzy HORRIBLE hair for the rest of their life I can only say that straighteners are the BEST THING EVER!!!!! (Got salon straighteners by the way - cheaper ones just don't work and they might indeed damage your hair!)

Depends on who does it and how professional they are. Or do you mean with just a home straighting iron? if it is with this one, just make sure the iron is not way to hot or it will burn your hair and make it really dry, I use one on my hair everyday, but I also keep it well conditioned with diferent things, and I would suggest the same if your getting it done in a salon. If you keep it conditioned good you'll be fine. sunnydays

Some people experience breakage and if you go to close to the scalp you can get burned, which can result in bald spots! If your careful, No worries!
