a true Muslim knows that it is not his or her job to judge that. judgment is a trait that belongs only to God. but in the Quran it does say:
"Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve"
-Holy Quran verse 2:62
*thank you for your genuine question

No, that person made that up: Quran
[2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
Jews, Muslims, and Christians, and other faiths who lead a righteous life will. But hypocrtical, non-believing Christians, Jews, Muslims, and other faiths, who do not uphold the laws of God and cause corruption on Earth won't. Its all about your actions and sincerity to please God according to the Muslim faith. So work hard and do good deeds towards God. :)

People of the book BEFORE it has been changed over the years, the ones who go by the authentic book (it's not found these days, be careful), yes they'll go to heaven, but since there has been a lot of confusion and many version of the book Allah sent prophet Mohammad with the Quran to guide the humans back, that's why he is called the savior of humanity.

I think according to Muslims only those people of Book will go to heaven who were faith full to the Book of that time and after coming of Islam if they converted to Islam and obeys the teaching of Islam.

well depends upon the faith that you follow. if you are Christian that never reveled the message you have some reason to ask god almighty to forgive you but if we know that Abraham was the god messenger and Noah was the same and then moses came and the rest of the messengers one after another they were send by holy god to guide people to the light path of godliness, then came Jesus the son of marryam he was the messenger of god who came to this world to guide people to holy god. then the unrighteous Jews killed the massih (mess ayah) .however the Jesus guide the people to the the next holy messenger prophet Mohamed pbuh. he said all the be livers in the god (Allah) almighty if they do hear and see the message holy quran they can not ask for the ignorance. and being able to see the light. so you should judge for your self that if you are in which category. we should look for the light may god the holy god guide us all to the right path . peace be with you all.
last i know that god is soooooo compassionate and full of mercy that eventually forgives all those who really ask for the mercy and peace. god really love us all. because we are created by god almighty and we are suppose3 to be the best creation of all.

God says He will judge between the People of the Book. We can not say what God will decide. But know that God is The Most Mericiful.

well the differnt levels is true but it says in the holy quran that if you believe in allah as the one and only god and if you believe that muhammed is the last messenger of god then your entry in heaven is valid. . .. but if you do ":shirk" that is disbelieve in allah and take somebody else as god then you shall not be forgiven. your friends must have told you that allah (swt) is most merciful and will forgive any sin but not "shirk" and if you are a mushrik i.e disbeliever then your entry into heaven will be invalid. . . . and dont forget that the lowest and the worst level of heaven is the one which hypocrites will enter!!!

Fanatic Muslims think that only people that worship Allah can go to heaven. Less extreme Muslims though, think that if people of other religions are "good" according to them they do have a spot beside God.
