Some women might. They just aren't the right girls for you. Body art is the most awesome form of expression and open minded women will not feel intimidated. I think tattoos are hot and many other women do to. If you are shy around women they may think you are mean, stereotype of mean tattooed guy, so be friendly smile and say hi. I answered this question assuming you were looking for a little help with girls, if that is not the case please disregard any part of the answer that doesn't work for you.
Cheers!

I was all set to give this an answer and then two things happened. Someone already said pretty much what was on my mind, and then the following thought struck me: Who cares? Is it suddenly my concern what gets some guys' man panties in a twist? If he's going to be "intimidated" by me with tattoos then he probably would have been in real trouble without the sneak peek into my personality.

Zoe, in all honesty, it depends on the woman! People call me the "librarian" and think I'm all goody-goody when they first meet me and I have my uniform on (Army) because I have nerdy glasses and I really look like a little sweet girl. But if I take my jacket off, I have a half sleeve. People usually give me the "What the F*&k?!" look after that.
It depends on your tattoos, location, and how well you can cover them. If people see 2 full sleeves hanging out of your clothes on a first meeting, some people will be intimidated. Tattoos are still somewhat taboo.
In all honesty, do you really want a woman who is intimidated by your tats? I used to date a guy who made me hide them when I was around his family. That was no fun. You want someone who will love you for who you are, not who they wish you were. Those are your tattoos, that is your body. Love it, and find someone else who loves it too!

Really, 'intellectual tattoos'? Please. Yes, absolutely. Some women (and some men) see tattoos and think drug addict, criminal, etc. Just as some people see an Amish man and think he is the picture of wholesomeness.
When you got tattoos you wanted them to be seen or you wouldn't have gotten them, too late to worry over it now.
I do know that some people get tattoos and then by finding God and reading the bible realize that what they did was wrong according to the word and they repent (ask forgiveness and don't do it anymore) and move on.

Personally? It'd be a bit hypocritical of me to say, "oh, I don't like a lot of tattoos" considering that two of my favorite rockers are covered. *laughs*
Tattoos are nice, and if the artwork is good? Even better. They can always be a conversation starters. But if the artwork sucks on them? Then they're probably not gonna be that attractive.
Think of it like this - good artwork is like good clothes. Bad artwork is like bad clothes.
Personally, I like tattoos, I have one myself and I think they're attractive instead of intimidating. (And I know a woman, who's a good friend, who has near covered arms and the top part of her back and while at first meeting she's intimidating, she's really really nice. So it depends on the person, I think.)
