I raised Persian cats for many years. They seemed just a our other cats.. I didn't feed much canned food though, but only a spoon on top of the dry food..I did have to give hairball remedy often, as they would throw up a lot if I didn't..

persians are more sensitive than most cats, its proberbly just a reaction she had to the food being the fussy, social snob that she is. I buy my persian Iams,(from the vet) as he turns his nose up to anything else. Hot weather does not affect him though, suggest u take her to the parlour for a shave, cause she might be getting uncomfortable, if that doesnt work see a vet. My cat thinks he is a sheep and when he does eat grass he gets sick. Maybe its all the fur that theyr licking up that makes them sick.

All CATS get indigestion and will throw up once in awhile. Don;t worry about it unless its constant. Make sure she has plenty of water.

They can, however, get heat stroke. If she's hot, make sure she has a cool place to lie. Take two coffee cans, fill them with water and put them in the freezer until they're solid. Each day, put one near or above where she likes to hang out, it'll keep her cool and she can lick off the condensation. The next day, switch the one in the freezer for the one that was out so you always have a frozen one at the ready.

Sometimes purebreds can be a little bit more delicate due to in-breeding. I have had several persians that are very healthy, but I was consistent with their diet. I used my vet's advice for the best diet, and then stuck to it. Unlike humans...cats are healthiest with least variety in diet, and stay away from table scraps no matter how much they beg!
