vncviewer used to work fine on windows, but for the last one month suddenly it started 90% cpu.
clean reinstall of windows fixed it.

i would imagine that it had some sort of adware, spyware or virus attached to it the reboot erased the problem. or maybe you just had alot of fragmentation. did you ever try defragging it.

The MFT was likley clogged with junk garbage files. The Clean Reinstall cleared the MFT of all the broken strings and stuff that didn't show up to the eye after a deletion. Stuff does not actually get deleted, it just goes to another sector that is not on the Visible Sector. The Icons and stuff are 01010101010110, just bad data strings stored in the MFT.
A media Viewer can store a TON of data, temporary files and deletions after view,it adds up.
