Its an extremely interesting way of putting your disgust with religion. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Belief is a very important aspect of our lives. This Belief may be restricted to Religious pursuits or could transcend beyond. Mind you - Religion is not responsible for the wars, but its Perverted Forms/Ideologies are. The followers restrict themselves to the lower plane of religion and don't put efforts to move beyond to the higher plane.

Social Revolutions in the world have been caused by so called Atheists around the world - not subscribing to any religious ideology - but ideology nevertheless.

That's a hard question to answer, because the exact causes of war are often pluarlistic, rather than individual people.

In terms of worldviews or perspectives, during the last 300 years atheism, natural selection, nihilism etc. have been the dominant POV in the minds of the greatest tyrants and butchers than have inflicted their own particular brand of evil on humanity.

Much of the conflict and war in the 20th century was the result of atheist ideologues. Religion gets the blame but history tells us quite a different story. The critic of religion needs to be able to offer an explanation for why the greatest butchers of the last 100 years turned to atheism and secularism for their justifications. Hitler leaned on the work of atheist philosopher Frederick Nietzsche and Stalin leaned on Karl Marx for support.

The Secular or atheistic beliefs, such as those of Stalin or Mao Tse-tung, who handed out the biggest share of destruction and pain in the 20th century need to be challenged every bit as much as the religious outlook.

All Marxists by definition are atheists, and they started several wars.

The Korean War was initiated by an attempt by North Korea to re-unite the North and South in 1950. This was an aggression by the leadership in Pyongyang.

Also, the opening shots in World War II were fired by the German Nazis and the Soviet Union. We don't really know what if any religious convictions Hitler might have had, but Stalin was definitely an atheist.

How can you tell who started a war? Mussolini was anti-God, but I don't know if that qualifies him as an atheist, but he started a war against Ethiopia. There was Stalin and numerous dictators in Soviet satellite states. I think Che-Guevara started a revolutionary war as did Castro, Ho Chi Minh and Pol Pot come to mind. I think Kim Jong-il is trying to pick up the baton now. Some of these guys preferred outright slaughter of unarmed people to actually fighting a war. I think every communist country in Africa has conducted purges and border wars.

You don't need a war to cause deaths.
You can kill your own people in the way no democracy can (easily) do. That's even worse. Here are some kill tallies from some notorious atheists:
Stalin - Kill tally - Approximately 20 million, including up to 14.5 million needlessly starved to death. At least one million executed for political "offences". At least 9.5 million more deported, exiled or imprisoned in work camps, with many of the estimated five million sent to the 'Gulag Archipelago' never returning alive.
Mao - Kill tally: 14 to 20 million deaths from starvation during the 'Great Leap Forward'. Tens of thousands killed and millions of lives ruined during the 'Cultural Revolution'.
Pol Pot - Kill tally: One to three million (or between a quarter and a third of the country's population).
Kim Il Sung - Kill tally: About three million killed in the Korean War. Between 600,000 and one million North Koreans needlessly starved to death due to the economic legacy of Kim's regime.
Kim Jong Il - ?

No, we atheists are a group of peace lovers! We turn the other cheek, just as all Christians do (Don't they)??
We are a very peaceful group the same as Muslims are (Aren't they)??
The main difference is we will admit atheist have fought against religion and religious groups, how often do you see a Christian admitting they have set out to destroy another religion?
Or a Muslim of any 'branch' admit the same?
i am certainly not ashamed to admit I would like to see all religion wiped off the face of the earth! I a very pleased to note that it is very slowly disappearing on its own as people are gaining more intelligence!!
Happy Xmas!! I know the Christians arent very fond of that 'Xmas' thing!!
