No one is sentence to Hell yet. people who are living in sin now are still given the opportunity to repent so Its by their own choosing not God. They send themselves when Judgment Day comes.

A Christian Perspective:
I do think God has the capacity to let sinners get tortured in Hell. Why because looking back to history sodom and gommorah were destryoed by fire due to their sin. God has given a way out, that is Jesus Christ The Way The truth and The Life. a way of escape and a bridge to God. We all have free will and the choices we make have consequences. So you choose Christ and walk in His Light you reject Him and Hell is the next option.

ALL people are sinners, as are YOUand I , DEAR! LOL And when we die, we ALL go to HELL, as it is merely the common grave of ALL mankind. And we stay there, ( OH DEAR! ) until the time of judgement for all mankind. And get this- no one is tortured there, as when we are there , dead, we are concious of nothing!! We are asleep, just simply waiting for God to bring about judgement day.
Look at it logically-
WHY would people go immediately to Heaven or Hell ( as YOU percieve it ) if then they were going to have be recalled for judgement day? Kind of stupid, huh? God doesn't do stupid things. ALL mankind will be judged at the same time. And its not like it'll take long, as God knows each and every one of us and has since we were first conceived in our mother's wombs, so he already has a good idea who will get what judgement.
Some will be allowed to go into his new kingdom, overwhich he has placed Jesus , his son, and 144,ooo ( Rev. 7: 4-8) of his most faithful and loyal followers , who will rule with him as kings and priests.
Many of another group , known as the 'other sheep' will be allowed to live here on the earth , and help to restore it to its original , paradise setting that it was created to be . These will be allowed to live there in peace and harmony, with no Satanic influence for 1000 years.
The reason there is no satanic influence, is because Satan and co. are bound in chains and not allowed to influence those on the earth at that time. After the 1000 years, he will be loosed again, for a short time, and then destroyed. This "testing period" will allow many to show their true hearts and those that turn against god, will be destroyed with Satan and Co. , destroyed forever and quickly. No pain, no suffering and no more existing . Period. the end. Good bye. That's all He wrote, folks. Over. Gone. Done.
From that point on, those living in the paradise earth, now much less in numbers, will get on with the task of living and now just for God's glory. They won't have to worry anymore EVER about crime, ,violence, hatred.. any of the things you can attribute to Satanic influence.
So, you see? there is nothing, NOTHING!! To fear from 'hell'. It is only a grave. Be it a burial at sea, a cremation or a hole in the ground. And its just a place to rest for a while. Frankly, with the health problems I have had, sometimes I have thought it would be a nice nap... LOL

Creation by God has it's own choice. If you believe in Heaven or Hell they are there for a reason. I believe the sinners that go to hell are the ones that are not sorry for the things they have done. In the King James Version ( although I am not that religious) says that sinners are in a brimestone of fire paying for their consequences. I still think that you make the choice whether you are sent to hell for your past wrong doings or sent to Heaven because you believe.

Yes, sinners in hell are tortured...
"The smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever"
Rev. 14:11
"Where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched"
Mark 9:44
It doesn't say that in the NIV Bible, because the Bible is corrupt and they have omitted the fires of hell to assuage man's conscience, as well as many other passages.
I would recommend the good old KJV, myself

yes he not only has the capacity ,but allows it because it is our choice as christians whether we are obedient to god our let satan control our lives. Its one or the other we can have it both ways. and if we choose satan then being tortured in hell is the consequences we will pay for our decision.

Sinners aren't "tortured" in Hell for all eternity. There is no eternal "life" in Hell. You cannot exist in hell, it is the wrath of God. No one lives through the wrath of God. Did the wicked survive the flood? No, and neither shall sinners survive the wrath of God. "Fear Him who has the power to cause your soul to perish in hell." That which has perished, ceases to exist. You cannot endure the wrath of God, and then live to tell about it. God said "sinners shall be forgotten about", so obviously God isn't going to "stay in hell" for all eternity to "torture" them. The lake of fire is a one time event.

Man has created hell as we see it. No where in the bible does it mention hell, or what will happen there.
It actually states that God will toss you into a lake of fire to be gone from God and his presence forever. Does not state torture or demons, devil, etc. Just states that you will cease to exist near God as his creation, meaning you will cease to exist, that is the torture.

no, G-d would not allow his creation to be tortured in hell. which is why there is no such thing as hell.
when christians say that G-d is all loving and merciful, except that he burns sinners in hell, it really means he is only all loving and merciful to a small, select group. with everybody else though, he is tyrant.
