Lets take Christianity. Jesus had a good idea with praising God and that he forgives all for things they have done wrong. I believe that the future rulers and society itself created things like the 10 commandments, the 7 deadly sins, etc. I believe that they started with the idea of control over society and creating laws, but they wrongly used God as the one who gave them the laws that came from him.

I believe that man made religion is a very bad idea to control the masses. I believe the word of God for as the laws are infallible and stand as inspire or spiritually given by God not to control but to direct us to be in Holiness as we should be.

Yeah, pretty much so. Jesus probably had good intentions and did some good things, but when it turned into an organized religion other people added rules they made up and claimed those were God's rules and got people to follow them by telling them about heaven and hell. Through history the church has ruined the whole idea and used the religion as a way to control people and get both power and wealth and along the way it has often adjusted the religion to suit its own interest. Christianity is basically a good idea gone bad. I'm sure the same applies to most other religions as well. No offense to anyone, just telling it the way I see it.

I think it began with a good idea. It was meant to promote moral values and ethical problem solving. Unfortunately, it fell when it became about God ownership.
