Dry hair do get split end easier than any other type of hair. Try using conditioner regularly. Try drying your hair as dry as possible with towel. If you let it dry naturally, it will be prone to being drier and drier.
To have a best outcome, you can cut your hair first, making sure that you don't have any spilt-ends left, and then treat your hair as I've written above.
Hopefully you can see the result in 4-6 weeks...

The only way to combat split ends is using a deep conditioning treatment on your hair at least once a week, but start with getting your hair stylist to cut the split ends out of your hair first so that your hair is in good shape to start with. Split ends is a way you can tell if your hair is way too dry at the ends, so deep conditioning is the only way to go. Try something like John Frieda, I use his products and they have done wonders for my hair. I was previously using Pantene, but found it was not doing anything for my hair conditioning wise. I go to a hairdresser to have my hair highlighted, which makes my hair really dry so thats why I use the John Frieda, it may be $15-$18 dollars per shampoo or conditioner but it is definitly worth the extra money if you can afford it. Good Luck, hope this helps :)

I get split ends a LOT... the only thing that helps is getting it cut every so often. Just enough to cut off the split ends. I fully straighten my hair every other day, maybe 3 at most, and do touch-ups everyday. I have really frizzy curly hair before I straighten it. Right after I get it cut though it's totally fine! GL with your hair and have a great day! =)

First off, get them trimmed off. Then you get to start over with healthy hair.
Then, stroll down the hair-care aisle at WM and become acquainted with hair masks and how they work. Get one you like. Some you use once a month, some once a week, and others only when you need them.
Truly, your hair is a reflection of your health. Stay hydrated with plenty of WATER, and try to eat healthy foods. Feed your hair good things.
Don't wash your hair everyday. You are robbing your hair of essential oils that come from your scalp, but don't get a chance to make it down to the end.
Use a leave-in conditioner or use Dove's anti-frizz lotion. It's wonderful and it works. Start using a shampoo/conditioner that says "for straight/sleek hair."
And most importantly, you might consider taking a prenatal vitamin until your hair starts looking better. It has things in it that will make your hair, skin & nails beautiful and strong.
Good luck!

my hair is pretty bad withthem too... i was using expensive shampoo and i switched to dove moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and i trimmed my split ends myself (i would go get a trim, but i just moved and don't have a stylist yet)... my friends have noticed the difference since i switched hair products. i am not diagnosing you hair products as your problem (since i don't even know what you use), but it could help, and dove is amazing!
also, use a leave-in conditioner, but don't use regular conditioner as leave-in. it can seriously damage your hair. my source for that is several stylists and was confirmed by a magazine (not sure which mag, though).

Yeah I have the same problem and I'd like for maybe someone to answer without saying trim is because I NEVER cut or trim my hair and I never have. So is there a different way. But for me I just use a conditioner and just get used to it.

you cant really prevent split ends...if u haven't got split ends yet just use a deep moisturising conditioner. if you've got split ends already, trim off the split ends and use lotsa conditioner and moisturiser

make sure your using a good conditioner. focus on the ends. keep up with the trimming. and make sure your brush is not breaking your hair. try a wide tooth comb. this will pull on your hair less.

Use a hair serum. Apply it on the ends of your hair before you go out. It works :)
