Yes, call the airline and if your baby has his own seat, most airlines offer baby formula. Ask about it to make sure it is compatible wih your baby's diet. My baby suffers from allergies so I am also bringing a letter from the doctor stating I am carrying lifesaving medicine with me, so that they will let me carry it onboard regardless of the restrictions. If that is a concern, talk to your doctor too.

PS- You should never give alcohol to a baby and never give him cold medicine to quiet him down. This is dangerous. That is what baby acetaminofen (Tylenol) or paracetamol are for. Ask your doc for the right dosage!

yes, liquid is still prohibited on the plane. You need to call the airline that you are traveling on and find out what you are allowed to have with the baby. You are going to need to take everything that you would normally take in a diaper bag...i.e. diapers, wipes, bottles....if you can get powder formula and make the bottle on the plane if you have to. Babies ears still pop when they are in planes while taking off and coming down...so you will need to find something for your baby to suck on or chew on whether it be a passafier, a wet washcloth, or a teething ring. If his/her ears start bothering him/her, ask for some whiskey if the plane has it and stick your finger in the little bottle. Put the whiskey that is on your finger on the infants gums, this should stop him from crying and it should help his/her ears from bothering him/her.

take unopened formula... open it after you are on the plane... have a bottle ready, and maybe another with just the powder formula and add water when or if you need to feed.... if you are unsure, CALL the airline NOW and ask what the policy is for taking babies.. food, formula, etc... make it easier on YOU by asking them !!!!! God bless
