I have watched specials about the dangers of methodone, and recently found out that is what Anna Nicole's son died from. My Dr. just rx'd some to me to help me sleep (I was addicted to ambien prior). I took it last night and felt kind of weird. Now I"m scared of it. Is it really like methodone? Methodone scares me. Thanks.

No. I am on trazadone for sleep, and methadone is prescribed usually for recovering addicts, and can be just as addicting as the drug itself. Trazodone is very mild in terms of addiction, and my doctor feels that its useful for many of things. Check with your doctor and talk about your concern, or research on the net like webmd or something like it.

I have a prescription of Trazadone (50 mg) It is an anti-depressant that makes you sleep. No, it's not like methadone. Methadone is a pain reliever and is also sometimes used for recovering drug addicts.

No, it is nothing like methadone. You feel wierd when you first start taking it, but that lasts only about a week, then you body adjust. I take 600 mg. a night to help me sleep. I notice that if I don't go to bed right after I take it, I start seeing colors' that aren't there.

My husband has chronic pain and once was prescribed Trazadone to control spasms in his forearms and legs. It did help but we soon found he had an allergy to the drug.

No. Trazadone is an antidepressant. Not the same family at all.
