If don properly they feel a tad, much like stubing your toe, if don improperly, then I say we put the guy who did it through the same thing! In more advanced nations they use an electrical device that sends about a million volts directly through the head (Instant death of the nervuse system essentualy) So they may feel discomfert while being placed in the device. For any here who have suffered a high voltage shock, it doesn't realy hurt, you basicly get a sudden cold feeling and are very alert feeling all at once, just omagine blacknes after that and I'd wager thats what they feel.

Yes, in most cases, but I try to make it as sudden as possible, so that they suffer very little, feeling only shock and surprise.
If they are allowed to suffer the meat goes funny and spoils fast.

I think so. Animals are aware and can display emotions. Ever hear of a whimpering dog or see one? They are visibly displaying emotions.

I'm guessing so. If you step on a dog's tail they yelp, so they must feel pain.
