Ok, first off, Guiness is not technically a beer from the UK. It's brewed in the Republic of Ireland (the big bit at the bottom, not part of the United Kingdom). Next, there are lots of beers from the UK that I would drink before ponying up the cash for a pint of G. Double Diamond, Boddington's, John Smith, anything from the Black Sheep Brewery in Yorkshire (eg. Monty Python's Holy Ale or Riggwelter) and lots of independent brewers' product. You should be able to find it (draught Guiness) in any decent Irish pub in the US... especially Boston or New York.

Guiness is great stuff! But no way is it he best beer in the UK. It's not even from the UK. It's from Dublin, Ireland. The Brits have some amazing ales like Royal Oak, Young's, Samuel Smith's, Fullers and others that are of the highest quality and taste.
Here in the states we have many Irish pubs. Especially here in New York. You can go into any of them and get Draught/Draft Guiness for anywhere from $4-$6 per pint.
In any beer store or supermarket you can get Guiness in a 16 ounce/ Pint can for about $8 for a 4-pack. What makes this a good product is that it's packed with a Nitrogen Capsule (you can hear it clunk around the can when you lift it.) that after air hits it, the capsule activates and creates the "draft-like" quality as if you would get it in a pub. Neat trick.

I can't say whether or not is is the best beer in the UK or not. However, I can give you some insight into the cost and availability in the U.S. It costs about 3 to 4 dollars most places that I can find it for a 16 oz. bottle. I do seem to find it as a draft almost as often as I find it available as a bottle. It is a little cheaper as a draft. Say, about 2.50 to 3 dollars for a 16 oz. draft. Hope this helps.

Guniness is one of my favorite beers in the world. Here in the states, a pint costs between $2 and $5 depending in where you get it. It can be tough to find at bars, and sometimes when you do find it, they dispense it with co2 instead of the nitrogen blend it's ment for.

Well, you cant say its the "best" beer anywhere. It has a very unique taste that is kind of an aquired taste. Saying "best" is merely an oppinion based on peoples personal preferences. It is sold in the US, but I have never seen it sold as draft where I live. It is pretty pricy for a 6-pack though, around 10-15 dollars.

Most people think that Budweiser is the what is acceptable beer????. Thank God I have a husband who is very discriminatory in his beer and will not drink anything unless its imported and stout as in Guinness. Its quite expensive here and not on tap because most people think its too expensive???? To buy in a bottled form would cost around eight U.S. dollars.

In England, Guiness is big, but Mackeson is another popular stout, a little sweeter and heavier... Would taste great on pancakes. you can occasionally find it at the larger liquor stores.
Again, like a previous poster said, it is all up to the individual's palette, what they like.
