The fictional character in the book called the bible, was in fact a carpenter by trade. As for his politics, he was very left wing ,may be even a communist much of what he did in his life points to that.

Jesus Christ was indeed a Socialist Revolutionary. One of his first acts was to open the Temple at Jerusalem to the common people, where before it had been the sanctuary exclusively of high ranking rabbis. Remember, he whipped the money changers out of the temple. Good for him.

Jesus was for the people. So if that is a socialist, then yes I suppose so.

Of course. Because of my socialist views, my father, a vicar, once said I was a communist. I retaliated with, ' I'm a socialist. And who was the first Socialist?'

Yeah, along with being a mystic of muscle (socialist) he was a mystic of the mind (religious zealot). Both paths are essentially the same, just with different language, and both are anti-values, and moralities of death. Jesus never advocated fair trade and the criminality of using force for any reason other than self-defense, never encouraged people to use their minds and reason out problems for themselves, never acknowledged that the real world exists, never suggested that one work hard at what one enjoys, and find happiness and wealth in working toward one's goals. He was a monstrous evil, and his followers a plague upon the earth.

No, Jesus never existed... he is a part of a made up story (the bible, in my library it is in the fiction section) religion was invented to control the masses and make a select few rich and powerful.
Religion is for weak minded fools. Religion preys on the universal human fear... the fear of the unknown, why do you think you are on Yahoo Answers?????
*People are so fearful that it drives them to believe something that is so false.

He did not like the rich, particularly money lenders, but he appreciated the good things in life such as food and wine, and he did not object to having his feet massaged with perfumed oils. He also enjoyed the odd ride on a donkey whilst his followers fanned him with palm leaves. So I would say he was New Labour.

I've always been amused at the contradiction between the teachings of Jesus and the Capitalist/Fascist mouthings of his so-called followers.'Love Thy Neighbour','Turn The other cheek', Blessed are the poor',is a long way from 'Nuke The Bas*ards',and the poor are poor because they are lazy.

socialists are avowed atheists, so i doubt jesus was a socialist per se, but there's no doubt he was a radical. and a very good one at that.
