others who suffer in the world?

I asked another question yesterday that was about what you would do if you could be God for one day.I listed the rules of what it means to be God in the modern world and yet a few answers suggested that those rules don't exist and God shows his power and so forth all the time.
But if that is true then why has he sat on his heavenly backside and watched as millions go hungry or suffer from sicknesses? And don't give me free will. Those people, many anyway, did not have the free will choice to be in their situation.

Here is that other question for reference:

So, why does this loving God do nothing for the major problems even when his own flock cry out for help?Or does he only show his blessings to people fortunate to be free of sicknesses and fortunate enough to have been born in the right part of the world with the right opportunities?

I didn't create life and so I am not responsible for it.That is the job of the creator, isn't it?

Yeah exactly, if I was as incompetent at my job as he is then I'd get fired.

God shows love for the suffering through the actions of believers, at least when it's done right. Being self-sufficient, God needs nothing from us, not praise, sacrifice or service. So the only meaningful way to "serve" God is by serving those who need it. The "free will" at issue is not that of the suffering but of those unwilling to help. The prophet Amos warns us that God hates worship and prefers justice for the poor. The apostle James warns Christians it is not enough to wish people well without tending their basic needs. And Jesus has something to say about blessings and those who already have them.

God created a world where things can happen, where stuff can bump into each other. That means there's going to be trouble somewhere. If God "fixed" everything that went wrong, the universe would be excruciatingly pointless. No one would ever have to learn or feel anything because everything would be taken care of. Paradise, I suppose, but I think I'd prefer a challenge, something I could try to improve.

Of course, if God DOESN'T exist, the issues are exactly the same, just without an awards ceremony at the end.

Millions of people are really suffering nowadays but you cannot be a hundred percent sure that they are all crying out to one and the same God and that is the God. A lot of religions are existing all over the world of which they have their gods....so if God did respond to their requests, wouldn't they think their god is the greatest because it could do such miracles? God wouldn't want that to happen...
Take this for example, when you're having a toothache, you go to the dentist, then the dentist will treat it. You go out of the clinic and meet people with tooth decay or doesn't even have complete set of teeth. You ask why are there people with unhealthy teeth? It's because they don't go to the dentist when they're having tooth problems. If you are having a tooth problem and you go to a barbershop, what do you think will happen?
hOpe i was a bit of help..... :)

No, GOD DOES NOT LOVE EVERYONE. Only the Children of Israel. The Israelites are his chosen people, which is said multiple times in the HOLY BIBLE.

Free will is an important aspect though, because it's not about the free will of those in need. Obviously many of those people didn't choose to be born into those situations, but many powerful people do choose to withhold resources and aid to struggling nations, opting instead to wage war and provide subsidies and tax breaks to corporations whose shareholders are already absurdly wealthy. These powerful people would have to be controlled in order to provide adequate resources for starving nations and the like (compromising their free will). If God were to initiate something supernatural, say, if it started raining turkey sandwiches to those in need, free will would be compromised in that event also, as people would be much more likely to believe there is a God directly intervening (which might make people fearful and not doing what they truly desire to do). Furthermore, people, and even more so Satan are responsible for the way life is today, so God is pretty much just sitting "on his heavenly backside," at least for now, although he can work through people who have completely given themselves up to Him. It is also said that God is much more likely to reward the poor than He is the rich; people who are starving may not have their prayers granted instantaneously, but they will have them fulfilled soon. And as to if He's worthy of our love, well, that's your decision

The sick and poor of this world are OUR responsibility. If they aren't being taken care of, then look no farther than a mirror if you want to cast blame. If you care so much, then go sell all your unneeded possessions and give the money to those who need it. Or volunteer your free time. Otherwise, you are nothing but a hypocrite.

First of all, YES he is worthy of our love, and even more so. Have you ever read the bible? God is not responsible for all the bad in this world, Satan is. You want to throw stones at some one, throw them at Satan. He is the root of all evil. He is the cause of all evil. God feels for his children. He wishes for not even one to be lost. Yes, Satan is the ruler of this world for the time being, but soon God's son will return and stop all of Satan's destruction.

I think the response of Dr. William Lane Craig pretty much sums up how one can best understand the existence of both God and evil.

How do you know he doesn't answer the prayers of His own people...

Just because some people are not spiritually aware enough to perceive God's answer, it is not His fault...

God answers prayers, he may not answer them the way you want them answered, but they do get answered.

Many people miss out on their answer because they are not spiritually aware enough to recognize that answer.

And yes, he is worth every bit of my love, the question should be, am I or you worhty of His love?
