DONUTS!
Dunkin' Donuts. Sunrise Donuts. Krispy Kreme Donuts. and every other Doughnut shop in the country goes by donut. I think the only folks that go by doughnut are Hostess with those little choclate covered things.

Doughnuts is correct. Donuts came around when Dunkin Donuts used this spelling because it was cuter on their signs.

It's just the spelling and no, there isn't a difference.
The one spelling comes from the US Dictionary and the other is a universal spelling. That's about the only difference to it.
