When I had a company car the company kept the insurance. I was however deducted $10 a pay period for a portion of the insurance. Their theory on this was I used it for personal use so I should carry a portion. This also allowed my husband to drive the car.

I think it was kind of cheap of them especially considering I worked for an insurance company (auto).

If the company owns the car, it must be insured on a commercial insurance policy. Because of that, the company usually pays for the insurance on it.

The company that owns the car should be paying for the insurance. If you use the vehicle for any personal use make sure that you add extended non-owned coverage to your personal auto policy.
