I've seen lots of them on google earth, the numbers vary from 4, 5, 8, but there are lots of 12's and 10's.

The number refers to the weight (in thousands of pounds) that the rooftop is rated to support. E.g. a "12" means the roof can hold up to 12,000 pounds.

That should be the approach heading for the helicopter when it is landing. Need to add a 0 to find the degrees from north. Thus a 4 or 5 would be that the helicopter should be heading north-east when landing. A 9 would be east , an 18 would be south and a 27 west. The 12 would be south-east.
