Palestinians are generally Arabs that lived in Palestine but did not agree to the partition. They have fought for the return of Palestine to the original inhabitants from the formation of the modern state of Israel. People living in Jordan now are called Jordanian. Those called Palestinian primarily live on the West Bank of the Jordan River, in the Gaza Strip, and in the Golan Heights, although some still reside legally within Israel.

Palestinians are people with family origins mainly in Palestine. Their religion is primarily Islam, with Christianity, Judaism, Druze, and other minorities. Today, they are mainly Arabic-speaking.
Under the British mandate period from 1918 to 1948, the term "Palestinian" referred to anyone native to Palestine, regardless of their religion; Muslim, Christian, Jew, or Druze. Since the creation of Israel, the application of "Palestinian" to native Palestinian Jews has lessened, and they are now simply identified as "Israelis" and are not distinguished from the majority of Israeli Jews resultant from the modern Zionist migrations. While some also exclude Israeli Arabs from today's definition of "Palestinians," others do not. Thus the term over the centuries has largely shifted from a regional to an ethnic and a political description.
The Palestinian National Covenant, as revised by the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1968, defines Palestinians as those Arab citizens who were living normally in Palestine up to 1947, and all their descendants through the male line. For those who were Jewish, the requirement was that they had resided in Palestine until the beginning of the Zionist migrations. For this purpose, the Zionist migrations are considered to have begun in 1917.

The Palestinians are the people of Palestine. And, yes-many became citizens of Jordan, and many are in refugee camps. The majority of these in refugee camps would prefer to be home in Palestine, and they would be if not for the militants who will not give peace a chance. If not for them, there would be two states-side by side (Palestine and Israel) and have viable economies and live in peace.

I guess you'd define the Palestinians as the Arabs who, for the past 57 years, have been continually screwed over and exploited as a PR weapon against Israel by their "fellow" Arabs, and who have never been trusted in the slightest BY Israel because of all the violence that's happened between them. Works?

There were no original arabic palestinians. the palestinians of today are the descendents of a nomadic tribe that was pushed from country to country because of their theivery and violence. They settled in the holy land the last time the Arabs wrestled it from the Hebrews, and have been causing trouble ever since.

They are the people that God instructed His people, the Israelites, to destroy and take over their nation way back when they made the Exodus out of Egypt. If His children had been obedient the Palestinians would all be wiped off the face of the planet and the nation of Israel would be a much larger country than it is today. Because of their disobedience there has been civil unrest, refugee camps, fighting, occupations and war in that area forever. See what happens when you disobey God?

they were the 'original' muslim terrorists. led by thugs like yassar arafat, they routinely blow themselves up in jerusalem, killing themselves and any jews nearby.
they were terrorists before it was popular to be a terrorist--now with the current 'osama' infatuation, it seems as though every towel headed muslim wants a piece of the terrorist action.

They are mostly descendants of ancient Jews...about half of them anyway...Over time they became Islamized and arabized and are what you see today. Many "Palestinian" Christians are descended from the original Christians from the time of Christ which of course they were Jews.
