Britain's 'open door' policy for workers from the 10 new European Union member states has provoked a backlash, an opinion poll for the Financial Times suggests on Friday.

Some 76 per cent of Britons said there were too many immigrants in their country, in a survey conducted by Harris Interactive - the highest proportion of any big western European country included in the poll.

Unfortunately, walls won't work for you or us.

Part of your invasion is via the "Chunnell" beneath the English Channel - the illegals ride the trains coming across from France. They're also coming in via your ports inside containerized freight - many suffocate before the doors are opened. You might be curious where they dump the thousands of caualties.

You already know how they're getting into the U.S. The Dems want then for their votes. The Republicans want them for their cheap labor - same as in the U.K.

The Russians imported thousands of Orientals to help build the Trans Siberian Railroad - then kicked them out when the work was completed - ethnic cleansing.

The U.S. and the U.K. are not as bright - the illegals are with you and us to stay - forever. They will increase in number to the point where they will profoundly influence our culture and politics - but probably not in your lifetime or mine. The next generation will inherit that fight, just as our generation inherited the turmoil brought about by slavery in the U.S.

The Right Wing reveres money, the Left Wing reveres people. The Right Wing wins in the beginning, until corruption paralyzes the ability to govern and the money runs out. Then the Left Wing moves in.

The form of government is irrelevant, as China has proven. Those who are in power will do whatever it takes to stay there. At some point a line is crossed and the pendulum swings in the other direction. It's all a matter of timing.

Did you show up when the Right was running the show, or when the Left was running it ? It really doesn't matter. If you have food on the table, a place to sleep, and no one is trying to kill you - sometimes that's what the majority of the world is willing to settle for. Unfortunately, both our countries appear to be headed elsewhere.

Ok, in an effort to salve consciences I'll be happy to say that the Americans came late to the party, but their contribution was quiet useful in the downfall of the enemy. We should never forget those who died in the conflict (Brit or Yank), but, the second world war was more than three generations ago.! The money the Americans subsequently loaned us (in bargain for trading rights, which led to their own golden era of the 1950s, 60s and early 70s) has finally been paid back, with interest. As much respect that I have for America, I tend to ignore the mewling catcalls from people who are less than 60, and therefore never had any part of this war. Analysis of the tactics in place by the Nazi war machine would show that Hitler's reich had failed as early as 1942. Without the Americans, the war would have taken a little longer, many more would have died, but ultimately, victory would have been in the hands of the larger European allies.

Ironically you're best bet for building a wall to stop immigration is to hire actual illegal immigrants to build it. They are the only group of people that would actually be willing to work hard enough in the hot sun for years, building barrier of hundreds of miles for little money. Even the "Minuteman Project" acknowledged that fact (they're the fools sitting in their on the Mexican border watching and acting like armchair border patrol agents).

Hey Winston...wasn't it you who came to The USA to address our Congress and said..."An iron curtain has descended across European Continent"?

Why would you want to build an iron curtain around your Nation?

Just change The Laws to make it harder to get in. Asking the USA for suggestions is no good...we are having similar problems but I don't think an iron curtain of our own, is the answer either.

Building a wall is not the right solution to immigration. Help poor countries to improve their economy so that people are not forced to migrate to rich countries.

Are you building the wall to keep them in? Shouldn't you be flushing them out first? On a serious note, I do feel comfort that we are not the only one who are experiencing this same problem.
