If parents do not train their kids in social skills then the class is interrupted and the teacher must spend valuable time teaching good behavior or herding that child. Parents need to keep in touch with teachers because with all of the troubles kids face today, a teacher may notice an attitiude change or friends change long before a parent will.Kids can hide issues from parents easily especially in our busy after work and school schedules. So many parents are getting mixed up with meth across the country and our nation's children are suffering from neglect and or abuse or lose of homes.

Of course! Education has to be holistic, not just focusing on academic achievements. Parents need to guide their kids in moral issues because very often, these issues aren't covered in school. Teachers tend to focus too much on the academic aspects because they are pressurized into producing results.

Absolutely! If more parents would get off the phone, away from the t.v and read or do math with their kids we would see an improvement in Amer. schools. Oh and if they would teach their children manners and quit making excuses for themselves, that would help too.

yes they do..but unfortunately schools are more like babysitters for the parents.....parents are also so wrapped up in their lives and work that some of them can't find the time to be involved in their kids educational process....
