I always carry paper towells & wet wipes & a hankerchiff. If I couldn't reach them fast enough, I would cover my mouth or nose with my hand and then clean them. This is no laughing matter. I had mono, then chronic fatique syndrome, as well as other medical issues, now I'm on disablility. I worked in a building where there were over 1,000 people, and I was sick all winter. People don't wash there hands. I thought I got so sick from the escaltor hand rails. I'm not as sick since I'm in my apartment now. What does that tell you? I'm still very ill, and take ten medications a day, I can't work, because I'm disabled, but you get my drift. I can't believe adults use the bathroom and don't even was their hands, I'm talking professional people in the bathrooms at work. This is the first thing we teach our kids. I think it runs across the whole spectrum of classes. Some people are just ignorant, or lazy or I don't know. But it's not funny when someone has a low immune system. I am very careful who I eat after. Because I know who washes their hands, and who doesn't. I pay attention to these things, since I've been sick. I still take all kinds of anti-oxidants, vitamins, and eat the healthiest foods to keep myself ok. Excellent Question. Big buildings should do more to keep their facilities clean. Our company had two buildings with legionairs disease, and people died. Company's could do a lot more than they do also.

with a handkerchief only!
But if you do not have one handy then you use your left hand to cover your face/nose from above and turn to the side when sneezing. So the right hand stays clean for shaking hands. I think this is the "official" rule.

Bare hands, since I don't carry a handkerchief. If I get hold of a napkin before I sneeze, then I will use that instead. After sneezing I usually look for the nearest restroom to wash my hands. Yuck....

You shouldn't sneeze on your bare hands. Find a tissue or use a handkerchief. This helps to stop the spread of germs.

When you sneeze, cover your mouth with a handkerchief or bury your face into your sleeve. Why? If you use your hand, you will spread germs to whomever and whatever you touch.

You are supposed to now sneeze or cough into your elbow. That way the germs on your hands will not transmit to another person when you shake hands or use the sam objects.

Just let it rip... i find a good sneeze really helps from time to time. whenever i try and stifle it in some way, i feel worse. naturally i'm considerate of those around me.
about the germ issue - we are all so wrapped up in our sterilised little lives these days... a few germs will actually HELP us develop immunities... one problem today is that we don;t get exposed to enough bactieria so get sick much easier than we used to...
in my humble opinion anyway :-)

If you can't grab a tissue fast enough, sneeze into your elbow. That way the germs won't be all over your hand.
