Yes it is true, in the Mormon (Latter-Day Saint) Religion we believe that we can become like God. I find it rewarding that God wants us to be just like him, like any father would want for his children.

If baby chicks grow up to be chickens and roosters, and We are God's children, especially since Jesus said we are all little Gods, then yes.
Unless you are an evolutionist and your parents were monkeys and somehow you were born a human, No wait that doesn't make sense.

We already are gods notice the small g.

There is ONLY ONE GOD and Jesus was a mirror of HIM.You look

We can't, we would all be lousy at it. The one True God is perfect. His love is so good that He never is evil.
If we were gods we would be arrogant, selfish, and bossy.
No one would want to go to heaven to have to put up with us forever.
