1) Some methods of Birth Control such as the Pill can cause abortions of fertilized eggs.

2) Artificial Contraception is against God's will for sex and marriage.

The Catholic Church advocates that couples abstain from sex during periods of the month where the woman is fertile. This is NOT the "rhythm method", but is called "Natural Family Planning."

Catholics believe that life begins at the time of fertilization. Once the egg is fertilized and becomes an embryo it has personhood. Most forms of birth control will interfere with implantation...cause that embyro to die. Barrier methods are also forbidden because God owns the life of Catholic believers and whether a husband/wife have children is a matter for God to determine. unprotected sex between a husband/wife acknowledges that God is to determine if and how many children will be in that family.

The Catholic Church is not against natural forms of birth control, just artificial birth control, on account of the fact it interferes with the way nature is designed to function.

Nature is a higher power than mankind. But even nature functions to the designs and will of God. To interfere - using artificial means - with the mechanics of nature is to reject the will of God, and thus, constitutes sin.

well, i'm sure that they think the main purpose for sex between a husband and wife is procreation. therefore, if you are using birth control and interuppting that process, it is a violation against God.

they believe in the "rhythm method" which means avoiding sex the days out of the month when the woman can get pregnant. which is so ridiculous as that's the time she's most likely to want sex, and who can predict exactly?

Ask the priest. And if he is not going to help you raise your future football team, you better use birth control. No, it's not offensive, just reality, we understand, because we have not had the guts to ask the same question before !
