Choose a name that means something to you. You know how boy babies are often named after a grandparent or uncle? Choose a female relative that you both admire and respect. Hopefully, they have a beautiful first or middle name you could use. It would honor your love for them. You may chose a creative spelling for it too!

I know it is quite special...I gave my daughter my middle name, and she gave our middle name to her daughter (who was incidentally born on my birthday!)

Another daughter has my grandmother's middle name and the other one has my sister's middle name.

I think that is much more meaningful than naming her after a famous movie star...those names are always overused. Good luck!

Choosing a name for your daughter is so personal. Other people's suggestions are no substitute for making your own decision. Consider things like your own personality, the baby's last name, suitable family names, your ethnic background, etc.

Keep a list of names you like, and try each one out for a few days. Say the name in a happy voice, a "calling" voice, a mad voice... try out possible nicknames, and decide if you can live with each one. Eventually one of them will become a favorite... and that will be her name!
