Pray on your knees, be humble and submissive to Gods will. Speak to God as if He were there with you. The most important thing is to spend a little time quietly reflecting after you pray and not just get up and go on to something else. Wait for His answer. Pray often and remember to thank God for the Blessings you already have.

To pray more fervently and effectively depends on your love towards God. The more you love Him the more you'll pray, and pray more fervently.

I find being someplace where I will not be distracted, i.e., at home, with no noise on (TV, etc.). Also one of the most powerful things I experience in prayer is, being very focused on what I want to pray about, and using God's word in my prayers to Him. Very, very powerful.

whatever your prayers is, it can not be fervently and effectively. So i prefer not pray than pry ineffectively.Or do it as if there is no God.

Just pray for God's will to be done. There is no better prayer.

it depends, if you want to pray alone, choose a quiet and tranquil space, forget about all your problems, and worldly things, focus on your prayer, on your connection between God and your spirit, close your eyes, and if you want, look for religious music, the ones for meditation, prayer and singing sometimes make a strong connection...
Hope this helps, and i'll keep you in my prayers...a Catholic

More fervently maybe, but more effectively (or effectively at all), I don't think that's even possible.
