If you knew without a shadow of a doubt that you would go to Heaven, regardless of what you did on earth or how you lived your life, would you do anything differently? Would you change anything? Would you do something that you currently don't / won't do? Just curious...

Someone asked me this question once and when I thought about it the only thing that I think I might actually do (all things being equal) is kill myself, rather than wait for my time on earth to be up. I mean, if I knew I was going to Heave... why waste more time on earth than necessary? Thoughts?

I'd still be the same, if you see and feel enough suffering you'll always want to stop or prevent it.

When you really become born-again you will not want to displease your Heavenly Father.
As sinners that we all are, we ALL slip up at times, but the Holy Spirit (God's Spirit in us) whispers gently that we have sinned. The Bible says to keep a short account of our sins, meaning to get with God and pray when we sin and ask Him to forgive our sin in Jesus' Name, for the devil, the acuser of the bretheren is always accusing us with God. For example, if I have a mean thought when I see someone, I ask God to forgive me for that thought (envy, retribution, jealousy, etc.)
We are only humans living in a world which the Bible says satan is the god of, and our defense is Jesus' Victory at Calvary.
I remember thinking several years after I got saved that, and I am being very honest here, (the devil of course whispered this to me) I may not be totally happy in Heaven singing God's praises 24 hours a day. Concerned, I talked to a pastor and he explained that once we are in Heaven the lusts of the flesh, whatever they maybe (lust, love of money, ungodly amibition, etc.) would not be in Heaven. Only our spirit goes to Heaven. AND OUR SPIRIT BELONGS TOTALLY TO GOD. We will be in perfect peace. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ.
We have no right to decide when we go to Heaven. God does not call us Home until we have completed what He wants us to complete
here on earth.
May God bless you and may you grow in the knowledge of just how much He loves you.

I don't think I'd do anything differently, because I follow the bible and the way Jesus asks me to live on this earth out of love for Him, not out of fear for "misbehaving". So I wouldn't just throw it all to the wind, if you know what I mean. It's not just because I'm supposed to that I strive to do as God asks..it's because His ways are perfect.

There is only one assurance of heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. If, hypothetically, all that was nonsense and everyone was able to go to heaven no matter what they did, then society would have killed itself out looonnnngggg ago because there would be no restraints on behavior.

I would continue to ask Jesus to cleans me from all evil, as I do now. What fellowship hath darkness with light? Can two walk together unless they be agreed? Why would anyone want to go to a place so holy and not be holy themselves? It would be a horrible place for an unholy being to dwell.

i do not believe half of these answers, i do not think people do not do things because of repercussions. to say you would do things different if you knew it did not matter if you went to heaven, would it be the same with prison? would people go out and steal everything kill and rape if they know they would not go to prison?

but the thing is that you are only assured you will go to heaven if you believe in the lord jesus christ and that god sent his son to die for our sins...and then we must strive to live gods words in the bible....so i would not take a chance because i know i believe in god and want to go to heaven....and the only reasurrance is through christ jesus
