Do you find Necromancy any bit interesting? If so would you read a book on it?

When I say Necromancy I mean the whole thing. Not the book.

Actually, wish, that's wrong. Necromancy comes from two Greek words meaning 'Death' and 'Magic'. You may be thinking of the Necronomicon, which is mythological book supposedly authored by the Devil. This is not the Book of the Dead, however. The Book of the Dead was a book that was buried with royal Egyptian mummies, and it told about the Afterlife No complete copy of this has ever been found..

Now, about necromancy....I suppose that it has its place, but the concept of spiritual geis has always seemed sort of a turn-off to me. It seems arrogant, somehow, although there MIGHT be productive things that can come of it. If you're talking about making zombies and raising skeletons, though, then I really don't believe in any of that stuff. I just think that, yes, there are some people who are probably skilled at dealing with life-force and the dead in a way that is different from those of mediums and non-necromancer energy-workers.

Maybe. Depends on what type of book. Fiction? Fantasy? Informative?

I think of Laurel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake novels when I hear the term necromancy. Can you be more specific?

Deuteronomy 18:10 - "There shall not be found among you any one that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

18:11 - Or a charmer, or a consulter with evil spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

18:12 - For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee "

Weebl, Solomon was punished for consulting the witch of Endor. He went against his better judgement and disobeyed God.

Some might say the CSI technicians work fictional necromancy on televison and sometimes in life the real CSI technicians apply their magic to those who must tell a tale though dead.

With my twisted mind, I might..... I've been digging this song by Gnarls Barkley called Necromancing and it's kinda got the subject on my radar. It is kinda morbid though... if we are talking about the same thing...

You need to put a definition for those who don't know. It's the book of the dead. That's all I know about it, but it seems more interesting than alot of books out there.

You might want to consult the Satanic bible. Or you can just ask Satan in person when you get to Hell.
