My grandma gave her spagetti, and ever since, she's been throwing up. It's sometimes mucous-ish and sometimes it almost resembles blood, not to mention it stinks, horribly. She is also having really bad diarehha. I had to leave her outside cause she was vomitting everywhere. I feel really bad for her. Was it the tomato sauce in the spagetti? Was it EVEN the spagetti? Is there any pet medications I can give her? I cannot afford a vet visit right now. I try to give her as much love and attention that I can. I try to comfort her after she throws up, mainly cause I don't know what's going on. Oh...she was laying on me, and I could her her stomach growling, and then right after I heard that, she jumped off of me and threw up. What does that mean? Please Help!

don't feed your dog any human food~! you're not suppose to give her spagetti because something in it will make your dog throw up. the only thing you can do is let her keep throwing up until she stops so there's really nothing you can do. just calm her down and and eventually she'll stop. and then slowly try to feed her some dry food if she'll eat it. the only thing you can probably give a dog without any effect are apples and carrots. but that's about it. you shouldn't feed your dog human food cause it will not start eating her own food as well as she can get sick from other stuff

You say it resembles blood...IS it blood??? Honestly, there's a couple of things wrong w/this picture. Your grandma never should have given your dog spaghetti! Why? Because most spaghetti sauces contain quite a few ingredients that are toxic to dogs (garlic, onions). Keep her WARM, and take food/water away from her for 4 hrs. If the vomitting stops, reintroduce her to water, and IF she keeps that down, then you could try giving her BLAND food...since her tummy is prolly really sensitive. Hopefully it's not something life threatening (Parvo)...but either way, a vet is the BEST option. If your family can't afford a vet, why did you get a dog? Be more responsible, would you say you can't afford a doctor visit if you were in the dog's situation???Good luck!

You should never ever give your dog any kind of food from the table. Only dog food. And then it should be one based on your dogs age and size. It probably was the acid in the spaghetti sauce. But how long has she been throwing up? She could get dehydrated. You might try looking in the phone book for a 24 hour vet. And see if they will give you idea of what to do over the phone. Just explain your financial problem.
But please try and save some money to take her to the vet for her check ups and shots. All pets really need them.
Having a pet is kind of like taking care of your kids. You have to be prepared to do all you can to take care of them. And keep them healthy we have 2 dogs and 2 cats and they are part of our family they get there doctors check ups, and vaccinations just like the rest of the family.

Not to be too graphic, but if the vomit or diarrhea is "projectile", meaning it's shooting out, she needs to see a vet right away, as in the doggy emergency room. It may not be the spaghetti that made her sick, it could be any number of things including a blockage or a virus. A chihuahua can get dehydrated very quickly. Do not leave her outside, you need to keep a close eye on her. Try to get her to drink some water.
It doesn't matter if you can afford a vet visit, you have to figure out a way to pay for it. It's not like she can pay for it herself.

Spaghetti sauce usually has onions in it. Onions are very bad for dogs. You need to take the dog to the emergency vet. Maybe Grandma will loan you money for the vet. If it is throwing up that much and having diarrhea too, it can quickly become dehydrated. Tomorrow may be too late. Get it to the vet ASAP> Since the dog is already sick and it is cold outside, putting it outside is the worst thing you can do for it. It could get pneumonia.

Is she a puppy? If she is, she could have Parvo.
If she isn't, the spaghetti probably gave her an upset stomach. Please don't feed her people food or table scraps. Dogs stomachs can't handle most of the kinds of people food. Some dogs have sensitive stomachs when it comes to food.
Please don't put her outside just because she's vomiting and has diarrhea. She isn't doing it on purpose, so please don't make her feel like she's being punished. Try fixing her a soft bed somewhere easy to clean and getting her comfortable.
You really do need to take her to the vet if this continues. Some vets will allow payment arrangements, just call them and ask if they do.
Good luck and I hope she gets to feeling better.

How long a time is "keeps throwing up" that's important. If it's from a meal ingested within a few hours give her some pepto-bismal say 1/2 teaspoon every 4 hours. But if it's all day you have to get her to a Vet she will dehydrate. I don't think your ready to begin home inter-venous glucose treatments.

The symptoms sound eerily "parvo-ish", though its prob. a reaction to the pasta meal(bad idea). If that spag. had any mushrooms(even tiny bits in the sauce), thats probably your culprit. I know you cant afford a vet, but can you afford to lose your dog? Sorry to be so harsh, but better safe(and out a few bucks) than sorry.

my dog throws up white stuff occasionally. all that means is that her stomach is empty - no big deal. i think the sauce just disagreed with her. my dog has a really week stomach, and i cant give her anything but dog food. just keep offering her dry food and water. dont worry she will be fine

She might have something stuck in there. You need to take her to the vet tomorrow and if you can't afford it, you shouldn't have a dog.
