Speaking truth and knowing truth are two different things.

Speaking truth - only indicates that man wants to know the truth. The truth is understanding the essence of why and how everything in existence is. It is indeed the foremost quality of a human being - that distinguishes it from animals. Human being wants to understand, then believe, and then do. While animals do by instinct alone. In the absence of understanding, or knowing the truth - man just manages with beliefs, rituals, tradition, and dogma.

Knowing the truth only males man a human. Before that the man actually lives like an animal.

Yes, one of the foremost, at least. And lying is the opposite, or hating those that speak the truth.

I think it is important to speak the truth, as long as it doesn't cause unnecessary suffering. Sometimes, I think we are better to remain silent. But we should be honest with ourselves and with others, and this is one very important aspect of a good life.

Not according to the bible:

"There is none that doeth good...no, not one;...(man's) throat is an open Scepulchre; with their tongues they practice deceit; the poison of asps is undr their lips..." Romans 3:12-15

Not a very nice assessment of the condition of the human race.

well, it is for me and i try mightily to be as objective as possible with my version of truth but fact remains that whatever truth i speak is from my perspective so is colored by my biases.

five people can witness a crime and give five different descriptions of the perpetrator and sequences of events and none will be lying.
