I've always designated a toilet area in the yard for my dogs by moving a poop or two to the right place. Then bring your dog there on a leash and walk him there until he goes. Give lots of praise, really make a fuss, maybe even a treat. You'll have to do this every day for a week or two which is kind of a hassle, but once he gets the idea, you're home free! Good luck! And don't forget to keep the area reasonably clean. Just leave one or two fresh poops there when you scoop.

Some vets theorize that this could be due to some kind of a mineral deficiency. Noone really knows for sure. I once had a Pomeranian who had an anxiety disorder and would do this all the time. Some dogs do it as a result of a psychological problem or due to anxiety. Female dogs seem to be more prone to it than males. How to stop it? Some suggest putting meat tenderizer on their food. There are also other things you can get from the vet , powders or pills, to put in their food that supposedly makes them less likely to continue eating their excrement. Ask the vet for help to get him to stop it. Or do some research online and see what has helped other people.

usually they really get the hang of it really quickly. people said to pick up the poop and place it in the area that it is meant for to go. what i did was i put a bin in her room and put a training pad in it. i let her know that this was the place to go to the bathroom. when i saw her go to the bathroom there i would give her a treat, if she went somewhere else i would punish her. she quickly learned within a week or so. good luck~!

try this one! If you want your dog to only poop in specific areas, place the poop from another dog in the area you want him/her to go, they are very territorial, and will poop alongside the strandgers poop, ( to mark their territory !) I have personally tried this with my dog, and it works great!!!!!!!! good luck.

if your dog goes inside, pick it up with toilet paper & put it outside in the area you want it to go!! they tend to use that bathroom where they smell it! thats why they walk around smelling the ground!!
