What do you dial to call to China (Xiamen) from Hong Kong?

I have a land line here at my relatives' place. My mother gave me a number in Xiamen that starts with 05. I have no idea how to dial out.

You have to dial 001~ + 86 + Area Code + Tel #

Im not for sure i know when station in japan callin back to states was 9988010 then the number but it was different for each country. Im not even sure if thats the right number, been about 5 years since i been there and to many numbers in my head. My suggestion is to look in a telephone paper or ask some of the locals they should be able to help.
