Ketchup is LOADED with HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!!!!!! This inexpensive sweetener is found in soda, powerade, bbq sauce, ketchup, commercial baked goods, almost too many products to list! McDonalds actually sprays their fries with a sweetened mist before freezing them, that's why they taste the way they do.
So, No, and acid does not burn calories, caloric conversion is a reaction from salt (electrolytes) and simple sugar (carbohydrates) creating an electrical/chemical reaction within the brain which continues to fire receptors, neurons, etc producing the basis for basic self-sustained life.... thoughts, actions, emotions are a result of the body being able to function.
And you just wanted to know about Ketchup

No! Ketchup actually makes fries even worse for you because it is full of sugar. That's a nice idea though, too bad the world isn't that easy.
