i get those. my cousin told me it's an irritated taste bud. either i bite it off and make an even worse sore or it goes away after about a week. orajel sells little cotton swabs with medicine in it, get some and dab the sore. it numbs it and hurries up the healing process!

Ulcers.
They can be caused, usually by 2 things. Medication and food. Sometimes tiny ulcerations appear on the tongue for seemingly no reason, hurting much more than they appear they should. I've had these all my life. Some are "trauma ulcers" caused by biting down or not thinking and chewing on our tongues. Rinse out your mouth with salt-water every few hours to keep your mouth clean and the ph level at a medium so as to aid healing.

You must have lied recently to someone...LOL....well, that's what my grandmother used to say. She called them lie bumps. It's sometimes caused by a fairly harmless virus, or can be a scratch, etc. It should disappear on its own in 24 - 36 hours. They're not contagious or serious, just really really annoying. Did you know that the inside of our mouths heal faster than any other part of the body? Try not to irritate it with your teeth, etc. Try to ignore it (I konw, easier said than done!) and it will soon be gone!!

Have you eaten alot of acid foods lately? Foods like tomatoes and citrus fruits can sometimes cause small sores on your tongue. If you have, just lay off of it for a little while and it should clear up it a few days.

It's an impediment!
Sorry, just a joke. It's probably a cold sore or a wart. Let's hope, for you, it's only a sore. Just try using some Hydrogen Peroxide to rinse your mouth out once a day for a week -*-BEFORE-*- you brush your teeth.

TRY TO EAT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF YOU MOUTH. THE SORE SHOULD GO AWAY ON IT'S OWN IS A DAY OR SO. YOU CAN ALWAYS RINSE WITH PEROXIDE. IT FOAMS BUT WON'T HURT YOU.
