It started 3-4 days ago. first i guess my nose was stuffy. then it was my throat which started hurting. then real bad throat ache. then it got mildly better. then i developed a cough. then my throat got little better, but still hurts a little. BUT NOW worst of all is this pain in one of my ears. it hurts a ton. especially when you let out one of those silent burps, then it hurts for a second real bad. I KNOW i must go to doctor which i probably will, but does anyone know what could be wrong? will the ear thing get better, because ive heard its just a sympton.

you could have a sinus infection that is draining into your ear. You should go to the doctor. You may need antibiotics. Left untreated a sinus infection can cause your face to swell up and damage your ears permanently.

From the time I was a child (many, many years ago), whenever I got sick with any kind of bacterial infection, it always landed in my ears. It's still the same today and it's just the part of my body to have concentrated bacteria when I get sick.

Absolutely go to the doctor ... she/he will check your ears and will tell if there's any fluid build up behind the ear drum. Then it's meds // antibiotics, etc.

Until you can get to the doctor, do not put anything in your ears. Also, don't be tempted to sleep with something warm (heating pad) .. I think this makes the infection worse. You might try a cool washcloth/flannel for a few minutes but really, you probably need meds.

Good luck!

The doctor gave you an antibiotic. Sounds like you have a sinus and ear infection. Make sure you take all the medicine.

Hi, You should not wait this long to see your Dr.See your Dr. ASAP. It may be a cold, sinus or a flu . May be use saline solution for your sinus which you don't need a prescription. The best one is simply saline solution, make sure to follow the direction correct. You can find it in any Drug store. For the rest see your Dr.

your ear problem is a reaction from your first problem. Antibiotics and medication like that is the way you could be treated. See a doctor. Really go in and see one. If not your infection could cause you to have an inner ear rupture. Happened to me. Listen to your body.
