Please, no sarcastic remarks. I really want to know.

Is there any Biblical text that specifically says God or Jesus changed the solemnity from Sabbath worship to Sunday worship? God Himself rested on and sanctified the Sabbath day according to Genesis 2:2,3. God instructed His people via the 10 commandments to "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy" and finally, Jesus Himself observed the Sabbath when He walked the earth.

The Old and New Testament alike tells me the true day of worship is on the Sabbath. What is your take on this?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

If Sabbath was just a Jewish tradition, why did God Himself rest on that day, BEFORE the Jews were even created. God rested on the seventh-day, right after He created the world. The only living huamns were Adam and Eve. Are they "Jews"? Of course not! I am sorry Esther your point is moot.

There is no verse that says God changed the solemnity of the Sabbath day to Sunday. Do you notice no one has quoted one verse where God says don't worship on the Sabbath. Or one verse where anyone, God the Father, Jesus, the disciples or anyone else tells people to go to church on Sunday

The Bible supports the continual observance of the Sabbath(Saturday)

I am going to address the some of the above comments

1) The 10 commandments are not part of the Mosaic Law, they are seperate from the Mosaic Law

"And He declared unto you his covenant, which He commanded you to perform, even Ten Commandments; and He wrote them upon two tables of stone. AND the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it. "
Deuteronomy 4:13

GOD Himself also makes a distinction between the Moral law and the Law of Moses
"If they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, AND according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them."
2 Kings 21:8

Both times it says God's law AND Moses’ law, there is a difference

2) Jesus did fulfill the law but that does not mean that He did away with the law.

Jesus said “"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

If fulfill means do away with then what Jesus meant was

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to do away with them.”

This argument does not add up.

It also says in the Chapter 3 that Jesus fulfilled all righteousness does that mean He did away with all righteousness

3) There is no evidence of the practice of Sunday keeping in the Bible.

4) The handwriting of the law

Paul is not talking about the 10 commandment law he is talking about the Law of Moses

Blotting out the HANDWRITING of ORDINANCES that was AGAINST us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross Colossians 2:14

“Take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ORDINANCES by the HAND of Moses.”
2 Chronicles 33:8

"Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God. There it will remain as a witness AGAINST you.”
Deuteronomy 31:26

Colossians 2:13-16 is talking about ceremonial Sabbath days Passover, The Day of Atonement etc. These are separate from the weekly Seventh day Sabbath.

5) Saturday is the Sabbath. The Jews have been keeping it continuously from Sinai. There is NO confusion as to which day is the Sabbath. The United States Naval observatory as well as the Royal Observatory have both confirmed that the Sabbath (Saturday) we keep is the Same one that Jesus kept and the early church kept.

6) The book of Acts shows that the early church worshiped on the Sabbath day
Acts 13:14
Acts 13:42
Acts 13:44
Acts 16:13
Acts 17:1-4
Acts 18:4
The weight of the evidence is with keeping the Sabbath

Some may quote 20:7. Because it says the broke bread some say this meant it communion and Sunday was a new day of worship but Acts chapter 2 says they broke bread everyday. Breaking bread means eating. Not to mention it does not say this happened any other time or was a habit.

People read more into the verse than is there. The verse tells us why they met on Sunday, the reason is because Paul was leaving the next day.

7) The Sabbath was made for man
Many people say “The Sabbath was made for man so we don’t need it anymore”

Genesis 2:18 says God made a “help meet” (woman) for man. if Man still needs woman he still needs the Sabbath.

8) God says worship on the Sabbath and people say “We want to worship on Sunday, God doesn’t really care which day you worship as long as you worship, He isn’t specific.”

The first person to say God doesn’t care how we worship was Cain. God said offer a lamb for a sacrifice, but Cain said “I want to offer fruits, God doesn’t really care as long as you give something, He isn’t specific.”

Was Cain right?

If it didn’t work out for Cain why should we expect God to change His mind allow us to do the opposite of what He over and over again tells us to do? “I AM the LORD, I change not” Malachi 3:6.

We need to give God what he asks for

Jesus said in Mark that the Sabbath is for Man's benefit, not vice versa.

In Acts, it shows how the Early Church met for Sabbath on the Seventh Day and then Talked and worshiped on through the First day.
--The weekend was born!

Christians rest on the Seventh day and Worship on the First. The Sabbath was not replaced. It was EXPANDED.

My "take" is why this question keeps coming up. You are aware that the sabbath was a Jewish tradition? The first church, as mentioned in the book of Acts, met on the first day of the week, which in that day was a Sunday, to observe the risen Lord.

I say let's stop this silly debate and worship the Lord whenever we do.

Sunday worship became a tradition of the New Testament church.
I keep the sabbath by resting on Saturday, and then gathering with my congregation on Sunday.
First day of the week? Last day of the week? FIrst fruits?

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath.
He is Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.
Why worship Him only on Saturday?

The 10 commandments were part of the mosaic law and Jesus said he came to fulfill the law. The reason the sabbath is now celebrated on Sunday by Christians is because Sunday was when Christ was resurrected and the law was totally fulfilled.

I don't know when the "true day of worship" is, but I worship God every chance I get. I listen and sing with praise songs whenever my radio is on.

There's a verse about never cease praying....I guess I worship also while I'm praying. Sure I worship with a body of believers on Sunday, but I'm there for the teaching, mostly. I think there are many other things I'm going to have to work on before I work on that. It will have to go in my "predestination & tribulation" file.

The Sabbath observance is actually of sort of a ritual nature, and Christians tend to disregard the ritual observances as not required. That is probably why they were not so strict about keeping a Saturday Sabbath.

After the coming, ministry, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is only TWO laws: "Love God above all things and your neighbour as yourself." Mathew 22:37 to 40.
And Paul in Galatians 4:8 to 11: "...You keep days, and months, times and years...".
So, sincerely I say to you: The day of worship is TODAY! Psalm 118:24. It means, EVERYDAY!
Thank you for your question!
