Why is it important? It is an all volunteer military. If they decide against volunteering, what is that to you?

You will probably find that it is exactly the same ratio of the same demographic anywhere in the world, where there is no draft.
The USA has an entirely volunteer military so anyone in Iraq, or Afghanistan or anywhere else, is there because they made a decision to join a job which involves carrying a gun, getting shot at, and shooting back.
No parent can force their child to do that against their will....not even senators and congressmen.
