As a supply Sergeant, he will normally be left on the FOB (Forward Operating Base) while others go out on patrol or convoy. So, he is relatively safe. Though, this is a Combat environment and bad things do happen. I would highly recommend that you get in contact with the Family Support Group of your Husband Unit. Basically, talk with the other wives, compare notes and such. It will help.

Your husband has about an 8 percent chance of being killed or wounded. However, the chance of wounding is much higher than the chance of death. And wounding can be slight or severe. So to be positive, there is a 92% chance he'll come back with nary a scratch. Statistically he might be in more danger living in certain US cities.

Not to sound harsh, but it's a war zone. Hostile fire pay and the combat area tax exclusion don't apply in vacation spots.

Regardless of his MOS, he's a soldier first.

I highly recommend frequent letters and plenty of prayer. Statistically speaking, he should make it home alive but any guidance from above that you can muster won't hurt.

God Bless you both.

Iraq is a dangerous place these days...if he is mostly on the Army base issuing supplies, he is probably going to be fine.

Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't have to engage in patrols.

should be just fine with what he is doing!
Most supply guys are in and out of areas b4 anyone knows they are there! Plus routes and meeting places are VERY secure!

Have faith-the good Lord watches out for the peace makers of the world!

He is in the exact same danger you are in right now. You have a greater chance of being hit by a drunk driver (about 35,000 so far this year). You have a greater chance of being victim of a violent crime. You have a greater chance of falling to gang violence.

You have as good a chance of being killed in america by terrorist (who still want to attack you here in america by the way) as he has of being attacked there.

Over the the last 5 years there have been about 3,000 soldiers die in the middle east. The terrorist killed about that many before lunch time on sept 11, 2001. When we take the fight to them, they are not so good at killng us as when we let them bring it to us. So tell your husband I said thanks. When you next see him remember that he is also keeping YOU and your children safe by taking it too the enemy. So make sure you let him know how much it means to you to know he would do this for you and yours as well as for me and mine.
