There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Hi, what a great question. I like the guy who's been married 37years and his wife still takes his breath away. really cool
love is a lot of things. you love your dog, or cat, you love chocolate Ice cream, or dont
but I think there are at least two parts to what you say you think you're in. first there is the roller coaster, I can't live without this person, I want to be with them all the time.
I think God gives us this to jump start the realtionship.
it's the most intoxicating wonderful thing I know of. or at least the second most wonderful thing.
but the other part of love is getting up from the computer and making the lunches and putting the dishes in the dishwasher cuz she's too tired kinda thing. Love is a verb and a noun.
love is feeling wonderful with that person. but for it to grow and deepen you need a commitement on both sides to hang in there when that roller coaster of emotions ends, and you don't really feel like being nice. you want to be selfish. sometimes you are, and that's ok, we all need a little me time. but then sometimes,
you put yourself out cuz you think, this would help the other person, even if it puts you out a little or even a lot.
feelings come and go. if you're committed and they are to you, then you have a foundation to build a life upon'
