I was wrestling with someone almost 2 months ago. I hit my arm, just above the elbow on something really hard. It was bruised up almost the size of the entire span of my hand... which is 6.5 inches from middle finger to wrist then 6.5 inches from thumb to pinky tip spread out. The bruise wrapped around the under side of my arm and was really nasty. So now almost 2 months later, it -still- hurts. It started throbbing last night about 2 hours before a bad storm rolled in. And I have no insurance and there aren't any free clinics in the area, so... how likely is it that I broke or cracked that bone? For the longest time I couldn't lift the arm above my head. It still hurts to put any weight on it. But I can use the arm alright.

It is impossible to know without an X-Ray. But it is highly possilble that you have a 'hairline fracture', or even worse. I actually broke my foot in two places by simply stepping wrong off of a porch about 6 inches off the ground. If it was a hairline fracture, it has most likely healed by now and you are going to feel a pain once in awhile, or at least I ache where I've broken or fractured bones...(I was a clumsy kid, what can I say?) Good luck and feel better!

it is impossible to tell without an x-ray if you broke a bone or not, unless it's really obvious.

Is there any particular reason why you have waited 2 months and haven't gotten it seen by a doctor? Are you a masochist and enjoy pain?

Edit: Don't go to an ER. Please. Don't clog up our ER's with a problem which isn't an emergency. You've waited two months, you can wait one more day to get a doctor's appointment. You're well beyond the time frame for when an ER is appropriate, use your common sense...

I snapped both bones in both forearms in a dirt bike crash about 10 years ago. My bike bogged out on the jump, so it didn't propel me all the way to the landing ramp. Nose-wheel hit the back of the landing ramp, so I went from 30mph to 0mph in 0 ft. I braced for impact by clutching the grips tight, which ultimately was what made my arms snap. Left hand touched my left elbow at one point (which I'm oddly proud of). Right forearm was at a 90 degree angle. Looked like i had two elbows. Still gives me the heebie geebies thinking about it lol

There is no way to know without an x ray. My son was complaining about his arm. The doctor felt of it, said she didn't think it was broken, but went ahead and got him x-rayed just in case. Lo and behold, it was cracked all the way through. She looked at the x ray in another room and gasped. We all heard it. She came in apologizing and proceeded to put a cast on it.

i'm no doctor but i'm thinkin you probably just bruised it. it's a long while now that it's been sore but that was a nasty bruise you had. i sprained my wrist once and it seriously hurt for probably a year. it's good now tho. thinkin yours sounds worse, so 2 months probably isn't that long for it to be sore.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU'LL BE OK. IT JUST TAKES TIME. AND NOW YOU CAN PREDICT THE WEATHER. YOU COULD TRY SOME RUBS ON IT FOR ACHES AND PAINS.
