In all the stories I've read, it does mention Pharoah. The story before Moses, tells of Pharoah then in the story of Moses it also tells of Pharoah's daughter.

It doesn't state in the bible, but there are possible answers, judging by the rulers of Egypt during Moses' time:

*The first is Pharaoh Amenhotep II who may have ruled from 1450-1425 B.C. He was the son of Thutmose III, who ruled from either 1490-1450

or

*Thutmose II or Thutmose III -
Josephus says the daughter of pharaoh was Thermuthis, which sounds an awful lot like the royal name Thutmose or Thutmosis.

Now, if Thutmose II was the Pharaoh from whom Moses fled, Thutmose III would have been the Pharaoh of the Exodus.

_______________

To all of you who are saying Ramesses, it's not correct. 1Kings 6:1 states that Solomon began building the Temple in the fourth year of his reign, 480 years after the Exodus. The fourth year of Solomon's reign was 967 B.C. The date of the Exodus can be calculated: 967 + 480 = 1447 B.C. And according to history, Pharaoh Ramesses did not begin his reign until around 1290 BC., so he couldn't have been the Exodus pharaoh

I am certain that in Hebrew texts it is probably written since they took care to keep great detail of all of the events. We can trace through the time though and figure out which pharoah was in power at the time was Thutmose lll who was followed by his son( not the first born) Amenhotep ll. So Thutmose lll was the one whose heart was hardened against moses when God sent the plagues.

Because at the time of the writing, everyone knew Pharoah's name.

Were you to write about the President this week, everyone in the USA knows his name.

No, if moses wrote it at the time of the Pharaoh it wouldn't make sense to say his name. Its like saying "the president" we know who the president. Other places in the Bible don't mention a name either.
