They stole Easter and Christmas from the pagans too.
So, that doesn't stop them.

All Hallows Eve IS Halloween.... it's how we got the word Halloween. It is a Cultural holiday... much like our New Years, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving. You are talking about All Souls Day, which is November 1st... and it was a Pagan Holiday as well which the Catholics started using in Britian, Scotland and Ireland because it was a Cultural holiday. If you move to another country, sooner or later you are going to engage in their cultural holidays. Just like when people become citizens of the US... they usually end up enjoying Thanksgiving.
What exactly do witches do? And where did you get the info? Because Archeology and history shows something totally different than what you are insinuating here.

All Christians don't celebrate halloween. A lot of churches have fun nights with games and candy on that day so people won't go out trick or treating. I am a Christian and I do take my children trick or treating. I won't let them dress up in anything dark and we don't do any rituals. I don't believe I'm wrong in that (I could be, but I'm not sure). I look at it this way. Kids don't know any better. They don't think of halloween as a satanic holiday, they think of it as a day to dress funny and get candy. To me there is nothing wrong with that. I don't throw parties or run around pullling pranks on people. I just do the basis. This holiday is so commercial now anyway, no one thinks of the story behind it anymore.

Think that's bad. Wait until you find out about Yule and the spring equinox and what the bunny's and eggs and may poles represent in our Easter festivities. Oh yeah and Christmas trees too. Halloween is exactly what you make it. We Christians had no holidays so the Church used themes from the life of Jesus to replace the pagan holidays. The pagans didn't want to give up the party. I love GOD with all my heart mind soul and strength. If we keep hiding in the corner shaking in fear from principalities and running from Satan then the world has won and Jesus didn't finish anything on the cross. WE HAVE THE VICTORY,,, PERIOD. Jesus is king of kings and lord of lords PERIOD. Satan can walk up to your face and you have the power to say "GOD rebuke you" And you worry about costumes and trick or treating? I'm an Ex Satanist and my kids are going out and having fun in the name of Jesus the same way we do every year.
You are correct. So now what?.. What will be gained by not doing Halloween? What will be lost by not doing it?
May GOD richly bless you.

There are no such things as witches. Even children know this.
Halloween is fun. It's meant for the children.
Why do Christian celebrate Christmas? If you do some research you will discover that the reason why Christmas is Dec. 25th is because it used to be a huge Pagan holiday and when Christianity was invented, they made it Christ's birthday because people already partied on the 25th.
Christ was born under the sign of Pisces (so late Feb to mid March), that is why the "Jesus Fish", is a fish. Pretty neat huh?

There are a lot of holidays that are celebrated that have nothing to do with the bible like Halloween. The bottom line is many do know it is a pagan holiday. They just choose to ignore the facts and celebrate it any way. After all to many fun comes first in their lives and don't want to be confused with the truth of the matter.

You are subscribing to a myth that halloween has anything to do with witchcraft. i hope that you are not uneducated enough to think that wicca and satanism are even remotely related to each other. Pagan were not worshiping satan at all they had their own deities who formed their way of worship and even St Brigid was a pagan deity who the christians allowed the pagans to keep as a bargaining chip to conversion. Christmas is also a pagan holiday as is easter so if you want to get your facts correct next time you post such an absurd question that would help immensely.

Do some research. For one thing most holidays that Christians celebrate started as Pagan holidays. For another thing, witches don't do anything wrong on any day, much less Halloween. (Which, by the way, we call Samhain) It's the celebration for autumn, harvesting of crops, and the beginning of our year. Nothing sinister, I swear. Like I said, do some research. It's OK, everyone puts their foot in their mouth sometimes.

Christians just want to take over all of the pagan holidays to claim as their own. Samhain, Yule - heck they even canonized Brigit and declared the Celts were Christian by default!

I'm Christian and I really don't celebrate witchcraft and paganism on Halloween. It's more just to have fun. I don't think of it as being sinful because I don't think of it as a witches/devil holiday.

Okay now we are going to think 21st century here...All my children know about Halloween is that they get to go to the church festivals dressed up and get some goodies for being dressed up. We have bigger fish to fry while fighting Satan than Halloween and trick or treat. I am not planning on sending my children out to a seance , or a bloodletting ritual or satan worship and they will be well supervised with all of the family there.
